AJ Projects is run by Andrew Carter, a fully qualified joiner with over 10 years in the industry. We are based just outside York and cover much of the surrounding area.
Andrew trained at York College in 2004, where he completed a three year apprenticeship, qualifying with an NVQ level 3, with his specialist discipline being joinery.
His career then began working with William Ainley's, specialising in the restoration and renovation of old buildings and churches as well as working on modern houses.
In 2008 he decided to start AJ Projects and since then the company has evolved from a joinery firm to a company that regularly manages large building projects, including full house renovations, extensions and conversions.
Extensions, conversions & Renovations
Providing consultation and advice with the benefit of extensive practical knowledge. We can provide peace of mind by project managing your building work for you. We will undertake the work in-house, meaning you'll be dealing with us all the way through. From structural alterations and full extensions to renovating tired or dated houses we can do whatever you require.
kitchens & bathrooms
If you've found the perfect kitchen or bathroom but need it fitting, we can do it for you. Or if you prefer, we can help you with the design, supply and install. We've created wet rooms, en-suites and family bathrooms, as well as installed a range of kitchens, from sleek studio kitchens to large farmhouse ones.
Internal joinery
We can make, supply and fit any internal woodwork, ranging from essentials like doors, skirting, flooring, stairs, pipe boxing and architraves to those more luxurious items that really make the difference. Maybe you've always wanted fitted wardrobes, wooden paneling or built in bookshelves. We are happy to consult on any ideas and help bring them to life.
external joinery
Is the outside of your house looking a bit tired? We can restore your old wooden windows and doors or source new ones for you. We can also deal with all your roofing requirements,
re-roofing entirely or
fitting fascias and soffits. We can also help with hard landscaping, building decking, fencing, and fitting gates as well as laying patios and paths.
